Myth of a Christian Nation by Greg Boyd. It was on my June reading list but I began to glance at it and couldn’t put it down. Some very challenging thoughts. It is really a book that at its core asks us to find our identity in the cross rather than the flag. While it is easier for the church to try to exercise “power over” the good news of Jesus calls us to “serve under” others. One method is to force our “enemies” to live like us through voting and fear tactics while the other focuses on transforming the heart which demands sacrifice and patience on our part.
