4 months later…

25 Jun

It has been approximately 4 months since this church plant began. And by began I really mean began. Typically church plants take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years to even get remotely close to starting. There is usually a time for fundraising before anything starts. There is a time of weeks or months of recruiting people who might want to join on a church plant. There is equipment and locations that are secured. Financial umbrella to be used for a year or two. There is training for the church planter and launch team and materials for the team to work through and get on the same page.

Not us. When we started we started. No overlap period allowed. No funding, people had one week to make a decision and no training or core team development. We just went for it.

And I couldn’t be happier. Sure, we don’t have a lot of resources to do huge things and we are constantly having to figure out things on the run. But the community I have seen develop and the values that we have united around have been beyond what I could have expected for a group of people just thrown into this Church plant.

So today I’m taking some time to listen to our first launch team meeting…you’re welcome to listen in!

I’ve had two separate conversations with people in the last 24 hours and all three of us agreed, we couldn’t have asked for a better team!
